Hard Top Hybrid Off Road Caravans

Want a solid roof over your head while touring Australia, without giving up off-road ability? Arctic Campers' hard top hybrid caravans combine a fixed roof with a hybrid off-road build and a practical living space for couples and families.

The Polar 15, Polar 18 and Summit 16 come with a hard top as standard. Our other models aren't hard tops out of the box, however in most cases we can accommodate this conversion, just ask our team!

Hard Top Hybrids, Built for Your Travels

Arctic Polar 18 with its fixed hard top at a campsite

The main difference from a pop-top caravan is simple. A hard top has a fixed roof, so there’s no roof to raise when you pull into camp. You unhitch, open the door and step inside.

The hybrid format suits Australian travel because it keeps the footprint manageable behind your tow vehicle. You still get a comfortable place to sleep, cook and relax, with construction intended for gravel roads and tracks well past the bitumen.

Polar 15 and Polar 18

The Polar 15 is the more compact of the pair, suited to travellers who want a manageable van that’s easier to fit into tighter campsites. The Polar 18 is the largest in our range, built for those who want extra room on extended trips.

Both share a standard hard top and a hybrid off-road design. For exact features, layouts and inclusions, check each model’s current specifications.

Summit 16

Sitting between the two Polars, the Summit 16 makes the most of its interior space while keeping off-road performance front and centre. It’s a good fit if a 15-foot van feels tight but an 18-foot van is more than you need.

When comparing the three, look at floorplan, sleeping arrangements, storage and the space you’ll need for your usual trips. A couple on a months-long lap and a family packing for school holidays will weigh these differently. Check each model’s current specifications before deciding.
